When I read the first line, I picture a guy locking himself in a belt and sending the keys to his wife. A month later she walks in dressed like this...and reveals that she has had the keys for a month already but did not let him know.

There is no reason that she does not know he is wearing the belt. She could have even watched him mail the keys off. He could believe she is just waiting on the keys but she has actually had them all along.
